| david lee roth to go back to van halen | | Wow! I never thought he would go back...David lee roth to reunite with Van HalenUpdated Sat. Feb. 3 2007 8:54 AM ETAssociated PressLOS ANGELES -- The rumors were true. Van Halen will reunite with original singer David lee roth for a summer tour of North America."I am very excited to get back to the core of what made Van Halen," guitarist Eddie Van Halen said in a statement posted Friday on the band's Web site announcing a 40 city tour. No specific dates have been named. It will be the first time that Roth performs live with the band since 1984, when he was replaced by Sammy Hagar. A brief reunion with Roth in 1996 resulted in two new songs but no tour.Original bassist Michael Anthony will not be a part of the reunion. Late last year he was replaced by Eddie Van Halen's 15-year-old son Wolfgang. On March 12 Van Halen will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony in New York. | |
| | Van Halen, David Lee Roth Reunion Rumors | | There's been a lot of talk lately about a reunion tour. The Sammy Hagar, Van Halen reunion tour didn't go as well as they'd hoped (although it didn't crash and burn either). Wolfgang Van Halen has already replaced the talentless Michael Anthony, so it's not really a "reunion" anyway...;~DWhat do you think? Would you pay money to see Diamond Dave and Eddie back together? Or are they just trying to recapture what was lost 20+ years ago?Personally, I don't care who's singing, the epicenter of Van Halen is Eddy's guitar. Whoever brings the lyrics to life is just extra. | |

| Van Halen: David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar? | | Ive always thought David Lee Roth was a better frontman and singer for Van Halen. Can any Sammy fans tell me why they like him better? Ive never been able to understand it.

| | Is there a cover song that you think is better than the original? | | Most of the cover songs that are playing on the radio stations nowadays just don't live up to the original. I've heard a lot of terrible versions of several popular songs from before. However, I'd have to say that there are some cover songs that are so much better than the original. Here's one:I don't know if people would agree with me but I find 311's version of "Love Song" better than The Cure. I find that 311's version has more feelings incorporated in the song and has such a lot more "oomph" to it than the original. Although the lyrics are the same, 311 was able to put their own flavor and beat into the song. It became more of a reggae love song, which to me, sounded better. This was featured on the soundtrack of 50 First Dates. What do you think? Are there other cover songs which you think are better than the original? | |

| | Great metal guitar shredder John 5 is going to publish his new album | | John 5 is a great modern metal guitar shredder. He started his career playing on albums by David Lee Roth (Van Halem) and Rob Halford (Judas Priest) but became famous for his live performances and recordings on Marilyn Manson albums Mechanical Animals, Holy Wood and The Golden Age Of Grotesque.
After leaving Marilyn Manson band he is now involved in a glorious solo career (listen to his album Songs For Sanity) playing instrumental guitar tunes and in live concerts for Rob Zombie. Next month his new album "Devil knows my name" will be out and it will contain a great instrumental version of the infamous Welcome to The Jungle tune by Guns N' Roses. I don't look forward to listen to it! | |
